No more Call of Duty 4 DLC

Infinity Ward has announced that it won’t be releasing any more downloadable maps or content for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Now that Call of Duty: World at War is in full swing, it’s time to move on, they say. As Infinity Ward’s Rob Bowling explains:
“Every level designer/texture artist/environmental artist/etc. working on a new map for a previous game is one less working on a map for a future game.”
The company is hard at work on the next (apparently annual) Call of Duty game. Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty 4 brought new life to the series, and took it out of World War II for the first time. While Treyarch’s World at War returned to the 1940s with the Pacific and Eastern European battles of the war, they did use Infinity Ward’s CoD4 engine to do it.
Infinity Ward’s next release may again move to a more current setting. Many sources are speculating that it will become Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Call of Duty 4 will, of course, remain active on Xbox Live for some time, although many players have moved on to World at War.
