CoD: World at War gets a release date
September 7th, 2008 |
Treyarch’s upcoming Call of Duty game World at War will be released on November 11 to North America, and November 14 to the UK.
World at War will take players back to World War II where most of the series takes place. This time, the game will focus on the eastern European and Pacific battles.
Much to fans’ dismay, the game is not being made by Infinity Ward, the makers of the hugely-popular Call of Duty 4. The game is, however, going to use the same game engine as CoD4.
In addition to the Xbox 360, the game is also being released for the PS3, Wii and Windows PC. A beta version of the game will open up in October for the Xbox 360 and PC versions.

Very nice, I was not aware there was going to be a beta for this game. Do you know where the sign-up will be?

I’m not sure. For CoD4 there was something on the website itself, but I filled it out and never heard back.

Not as far as I know — it should still be Nov. 11.

Is this one set in Vietnam? I like the current-ness of CoD4. Would have loved for another one to be set in the current date.

No. It’s back in World War II, but it will focus on the eastern European and Pacific battles rather than the usual central Europe.
