Mass Effect Trilogy for Xbox 360
September 21st, 2007 |
So, Mass Effect will be a trilogy. I must have missed that bit of news at some point, but I’m excited to hear it. Of course, it should be no surprise that Bioware would be planning at least one sequel to a game that’s won award after award before it’s released.
Now, Bioware’s big boss says that all three Mass Effect games will be out for the Xbox 360.
I’m a little disappointed to hear that. I mean, great — I won’t have to buy a new console that I’ll probably buy anyways — but putting out three large RPGs in this time frame might be a challenge. Mass Effect is huge (at least, that’s what we’re promised) and I fear that if they rush through two sequels, the series will spiral down faster than Britney Spears.
I wouldn’t count on this one coming true. There were only four years between the release of the Xbox and the Xbox 360. This generation will probably last a little longer, but it’s still a challenge to get through these games in time. Hopefully, if those deadlines loom too closely, Bioware will do the right thing and give Mass Effect 3 a chance.
