Duck Hunt

December 31st, 2006 |

I played Duck Hunt in Call of Duty 3 yesterday. It was fun.

I’ve fallen through the floor before, but this one takes the cake as the most glitchy round of Xbox Live gameplay.

It was a ranked match: War in the Abbey with a full 24 players. Everyone spawned above the ground… probably 10 relative metres up. I fell instantly, along with three others on my team. It didn’t seem like anyone on the other team was even able to play properly.

Most of the people were way off the map, with about 4-5 others in the sky above us. We felt it necessary to shoot them down.

“It’s like Duck Hunt,” one of my teammates said.

We decided to take the flags and win the game, just to get some points in before the game would crash on us. As much as CoD3′s glitches and network issues annoy me, this was actually fun, and almost made it worthwhile.

Almost.

I had a similar experience a few hours later, in which some players were able to walk through walls during a Capture the Flag game. That round caused my Xbox 360 to freeze completely. I finally got my 2000-point Captain achievement today, though, so I’m over it.

Happy New Year everyone!
