It happened in Call of Duty 2 all the time. It happens in Battlefield 2, sometimes. It’s happening in Call of Duty 3 now. There’s always some guy on the team who complains about snipers after being pegged off a few times.

You know what I’m talking about. That guy who’s repeating, “damn snipers, I hate them, they’re so cheap, I never play sniper,” etc. To this, I say shut up.

Snipers are a part of these games. They’re one of the available classes in which you can play. Legitimately. They’re not invincible, but they do have a strategic advantage that is easy to leverage — you can hide, and you have a lot of range.

However, that’s not an excuse for being clumsy. To play the game well, you need to be aware of snipers. If they’re playing against you, you need to (a) evade them; or (b) find them, and fight them in close combat, where they tend to be vulnerable. In fact, playing without sniper support on your own team may just be poor strategy.

So yeah, stop whining. Play the game, or put down your controller.
