F.E.A.R. and loathing

November 20th, 2006 |

I’ve seen articles saying that F.E.A.R.’s multiplayer is virtually lag-free, but that’s not what I’ve seen. I had some major issues with lag on this game that made multiplayer completely unenjoyable. The first couple of times I played everything was A-OK, but since then, it froze my Xbox 360 twice and wouldn’t work at all.
The controls in this game also seem a little clumsy compared to Call of Duty 3 or Battlefield 2: Modern Combat.

For single player, though, this game is sick. It’s actually all-around creepy to play, especially if you turn the lights off and actually let yourself get into it. The use of shadows in the game’s engine is phenomenal, creating a great atmosphere.

It’s disappointing that the multiplayer wasn’t working out for me, since that kind of intense enviornment would be perfect for late-night matches.
