36,000 Gamers
June 27th, 2006 |I mentioned yesterday how Canada was left out of Xbox Live Diamond offerings. It seems that the Xbox crew hasn’t completely forgotten about us, though!
I received word of this in the Canadian Xbox newsletter — apparently, there’s a neat little contest they’re running at 36000gamers.ca. Basically it’s like the Million Dollar Homepage (a new type of site that sells off tiny squares as links – both a PR stunt and a quick way to get traffic for some participants), except that instead of selling squares, each square is claimed by a Canadian gamer.
As the squares are claimed, a picture emerges. Some squares also have prizes hidden behind them that can be found afterwards. Once the picture is complete, more prizes will be handed out.
I like it… I think it’s a neat approach to a contest.
