Xbox Live Diamond: What about Canada?
June 26th, 2006 |Microsoft is offering a nice little bonus for Xbox Live players who have purchased a year-long subscription to Xbox Live Gold (or who have been playing on Xbox Live for over a year). Xbox Live Diamond is a real, physical card that offers discounts to various retailers for everything a gamer needs, including pizza, subs and Xbox merchandise.
Circut City, for example, provides Diamond cardholders with 10% off Xbox 360 accessories. Other partners include Papa John’s Pizza and Quizno’s Subs.
BUT the service is only available in the U.S., which is a shame because I was interested to see this little gimmick. Come on, Microsoft! Open it up to Canada, and the U.K. Up here, you could partner with many of the same companies, or save us money at EB Games and Futureshop. There’s definitely an opportunity for this stuff in Canada… loyalty programs are a big thing here.
Oh well.
